The Lightest Nicotine Pouches We Sell (Yes, 1.5 mg Exists)

Three products we stock go all the way down to 1.5 mg, and I'd bet most of our regulars don't know they exist. In January we ranked the strongest pouches in the store. This is the other end: the lightest cans we sell, and some of the smartest picks we have.

Stock note, October 2026: every 1.5 mg can is sold out, and each product page has a notify-me form, so the lightest can you can order today is 3 mg. The 1.5 mg section below is for when they come back. The 3 mg cans are available now.

Who light is actually for

A lighter can isn't a health choice. Nicotine is nicotine at every dose, which is why the warning at the bottom of this page never changes. Light cans suit some adult users better, usually in one of these situations:

• Your usual strength is just low. Some people's is. Our guide to pouch strengths explains the numbers, and if 6 mg feels like a lot to you, these cans are for you.
• You use pouches often. Having one in most hours of the day is a different thing at 3 mg than at 11. People who go through ten or more a day (our post on how long a can lasts does the math) tend to figure this out sooner or later.
• You want to try a new flavor. A light can lets you test something unusual without it taking over your afternoon. ZYN Coffee at 3 mg is an easy way to see if you like a mocha pouch at 4 pm, and our post on pouches and coffee recommends it too.
• Late in the day. Plenty of people make their last pouch of the night a couple of strengths below their daytime can.

The 1.5 mg cans

There are three, all ZYN minis. As of October 2026 all three are sold out at 1.5 mg, and all three are in stock at 3 or 6.

ZYN Cool Mint Mini is the standard mint turned way down. It's clean peppermint with a soft cool, and at 1.5 mg the flavor is most of what you notice, which is the appeal. It's the can people reach for most in our store, and almost nobody knows it comes this light.

ZYN Spearmint Mini has eucalyptus behind the spearmint, and that keeps it sharp where most light mints taste watered down. If I had to grade them blind, this is the best-made 1.5 of the three.

The only fruit flavor in the store that goes this low is ZYN Black Cherry Mini: dark cherry and forest berries with a vanilla finish. It was in our cherry comparison at higher strengths, and at 1.5 mg it's a really good after-dinner can.

The 3 mg cans

One step up, at 3 mg, is the widest choice of flavors under 6 mg in the store, all ZYN minis: Apple Mint, Peach, Tropical (sold out, notify me), Coffee and Citrus, the smaller sibling of the winner of our citrus comparison. There are also 3 mg versions of Cool Mint and Spearmint (Black Cherry's 3 is sold out). That's eight cans when everything is in stock, and six today. If you've settled on a low strength, this is where you'll find the most variety.

The jump after ZYN

After the ZYN minis, the strengths in our store jump a lot. The next-lightest can we sell is VELO Polar Mint at 8 mg, the 3-dot can (our VELO strength guide covers the dots). White Fox starts at 12, and Pablo's lightest is 17 mg when the Gold line is listed and 24 when it isn't, which is the case today (our guide to the Pablo lines explains the difference). Below 8 mg, everything we sell is ZYN. The company behind it grew up making snus in Sweden and decided low strengths deserved real flavors, and no other brand has followed it down there yet.

What to expect

If you expect a 1.5 to feel like an 11, you'll think something's wrong with it, but it's just very mild and you'll barely notice it kick in. Put it under your upper lip as usual (our placement guide applies at every strength), forget about it for half an hour and let the flavor be the main thing. If 1.5 feels like almost nothing, that's normal. And when you switch cans, change the flavor or the strength, never both (see our post on flavor rotation).
