How Long Does a Can of Pouches Actually Last?
How long a can lasts comes down to how many pouches you use in a day. You can work out your number in a minute, and it should change how you buy.
Start with the can
Most cans we sell hold about 20 pouches. The exact count is printed on the label and varies a little by brand and format. The pouches in a ZYN Mini can and a Pablo can are very different sizes, but 20 is a good number to work with.
Count what you use in a day
Be honest here. Count what you really use, not what you think you use.
- 3-5 pouches a day, say one in the morning, one after lunch and one in the evening: a can lasts four to six days, so a 5-pack is about a month's supply.
- 6-9 a day means you have one in for most of the hours you're awake. You'll finish a can every two to three days. A 10-pack covers a month and a 5-pack won't.
- 10 or more a day, one right after another: you're going through a can every day or two. Buy 25s or 50s so you're not reordering every week.
Three habits that change the count
These change how fast you go through a can more than the brand does.
Strength is the first. People using a 3 mg ZYN Spearmint tend to reach for the can more often than people using a 12 mg White Fox, so the strength you pick changes how many cans you buy. Our post on what the mg numbers mean can help you find the right one.
Then there's how long you keep each pouch in. Twenty minutes per pouch versus forty minutes is a 2x difference in how many you use a day, and most people never think about it.

How much to buy
Every can here is $9.99, the same price for ZYN, Pablo and everything else, and packs come in 1, 5, 10, 25 and 50. There's no volume discount to figure out. The different pack sizes just let you match your order to what you actually use. If you order every week or so, get 5s. If you order every other week, get 10s. And if you've ever run out on a Sunday, a 25 is cheap insurance.
