The Grape Test: One Flavor, Four Cans, No Mercy
Grape is where pouch brands stop trying to be subtle. None of them taste like the actual fruit, because they're all going for grape soda or grape candy. There are four grape cans in the store, from three brands, so I tried them side by side over two days and took notes.

The grape cans we carry
The four cans are VELO Purple Grape at 10 or 14 mg, Iceberg Grape Gum at around 12, Pablo Gold Grape Ice at 17 and Pablo Exclusive Grape Ice at 30. I judged them on how much they taste like grape, how well the sweetness is kept in check, the cooling, and whether the flavor lasts past twenty minutes.
VELO Purple Grape, 10 or 14 mg
This one tastes like grape soda: sweet up front, almost fizzy, and no sudden blast of menthol. It's also the easiest of the four to start with, especially at 10 mg. It's only average on staying power, with the grape fading to a mild sweetness after about fifteen minutes, but nothing about it would put anyone off. If grape Fanta is your idea of grape, try this one first.
Iceberg Grape Gum, around 12 mg
Iceberg turned grape into bubblegum, which is very much in character for the brand (our review of every Iceberg flavor has the rest). Grape Gum is by far the sweetest of the four, a full-on grape bubblegum in the same spirit as Iceberg's Gummy Bears. At around 12 mg it has more strength behind it than the VELO. If you like sweet, dessert-style flavors, this is your grape, and it's on our list of sweet pouches for good reason.
Pablo Gold Grape Ice, 17 mg
Gold is Pablo's 17 mg line, and it's Pablo admitting that not everyone wants its strongest cans. The grape is darker than VELO's, more grape skin than grape soda, with a real layer of ice on top. Of the four, this one balances flavor and strength best. If you already use strong pouches, this is the grape I'd give you. Pablo Exclusive Grape Ice, 30 mg
At 30 mg, it's hard to focus on the flavor at all. There's grape in there, dark and sharp with a lot of ice, but mostly you notice the nicotine. It's one of the strongest pouches we sell and feels like it. Unless you're an experienced Pablo user, get the Gold instead.
Picking a grape
Pablo Gold Grape Ice is the best all-around grape, because it gets the balance of flavor and strength right. For most people, though, VELO Purple Grape at 10 mg is the better pick, since it's easy to like and there are no surprises. Iceberg Grape Gum is the sweetest by a long way, and Pablo Exclusive Grape Ice is the strongest.
