Your First Nicotine Pouch: Start Here

Every week somebody emails asking which pouch to start with, and every week the answer is the same: lower than you think. So I'm writing it down once, properly.

Pick your starting strength

Nicotine pouches are dosed in milligrams per pouch, and the spread is wild. Our shelf runs from 1.5mg to 30mg. The right entry point depends entirely on where your tolerance already is:

• No nicotine history at all: 1.5mg. ZYN Mini Spearmint or Mini Black Cherry. Yes it's mild. That's the point.

What actually happens

Wash nothing, light nothing. Take a pouch, park it between your upper lip and gum, slightly off-center. Leave it there. You'll feel a tingle or a light burn for the first few minutes. Normal, it fades. Nicotine arrives gradually over 20 to 30 minutes, then you take it out and bin it. Most cans have a catch lid in the top for exactly that.

Don't chew it. Don't swallow it. Don't move it around every thirty seconds like it owes you money. Park it and forget it.

The two classic mistakes

Mistake one: starting too strong. Nicotine when you're not ready for it means nausea, dizziness, hiccups, a headache, sometimes all four. People take one 12mg pouch, have a terrible afternoon, and decide pouches "aren't for them." The pouch was fine. The dose was wrong.

Mistake two: back-to-back pouches. Your first sessions, give it real time between pouches. Tolerance is something you discover, not something you assert.

First-timer questions

Does it taste like tobacco? No, there's no tobacco leaf in any of this. The flavors are what they say: mint tastes like mint, cherry like cherry.

Will people notice? Pouches are white, slim, and sit flat. In practice, no.
