White Fox Double Mint, Reviewed: Peppermint Over Spearmint at 12 mg

We carry four White Fox cans, and this is the one people reorder. Double Mint is peppermint over spearmint with a clean cool, at 12 mg, in the dry all-white slim White Fox is known for. Original is the strangest White Fox (we reviewed it separately) and Full Charge, at 16 mg, is the strongest. Double Mint is the most balanced of the four.
Peppermint over spearmint
The peppermint comes first and gives it bite. The spearmint underneath adds the sweetness that straight peppermint doesn't have, and the cool finish never turns into a menthol freeze. Neither mint takes over, so it doesn't get boring and it doesn't get too intense. If our guide to peppermint, spearmint and menthol left you unable to choose between the first two, this can gives you both.
The dry pouch
White Fox pouches are dry and all white, and a dry pouch behaves differently (our post on dry vs moist pouches explains): it starts slower, lasts longer, doesn't drip and stays where you put it. Double Mint at 12 mg starts slower than a moist 11 mg ZYN Slim and lasts longer, so it can feel weaker at five minutes and stronger at twenty-five. It's just a slower pouch.
How it holds up over time
For the first five minutes it's mostly peppermint and a soft cool, and you won't feel much nicotine yet. From about five to twenty minutes the spearmint fills in behind the peppermint, and people buy it for that long middle stretch. By twenty minutes the cool is doing more of the work than the mint, and it keeps going until about forty before it stops cleanly. Our post on how long pouch flavor lasts has it among the longer-lasting pouches in the store.
Against the other White Fox cans
Original (12 mg) is the pine one. It's faintly salty with no freeze, and people either love it or don't. Double Mint is the one to give someone who tried Original and made a face. Full Charge (16 mg) is colder, sharper and a step up in strength, in the same dry pouch. Peppered Mint (12 mg) is peppermint with a soft black pepper finish, so it's warmer where Double Mint is cooler.
Against other brands
ZYN Cool Mint Slim at 11 is the closest in flavor but the opposite in pace: it's moist, so it starts faster and finishes sooner. VELO Polar Mint at 14 is colder and leads with spearmint. VELO Freezing Peppermint at 14 is far colder than this (see our Freezing Peppermint review). Double Mint is the moderate choice here, and our White Fox vs ZYN comparison argued that this balance is White Fox's main appeal.
Who should buy it
If you use mint pouches every day at 9 to 14 mg and want one pouch to last longer, it's a good fit. It's also worth a try if you found Original weird and wrote off the brand, or if you like mint but don't want a freeze, since it's cool rather than cold. I wouldn't pick it for your first month of pouches (12 isn't a starting strength), or if you need to feel the nicotine within the first two minutes.
It's $9.99 a can on our White Fox page, and we deliver to adults 21 or over.
Quick answers
What does White Fox Double Mint taste like?
Peppermint over spearmint with a clean cool finish. It's balanced, not sweet, and there's no menthol freeze.
What strength is White Fox Double Mint?
12 mg of nicotine per pouch, in White Fox's dry, slim all-white format. It's $9.99 a can.
Is White Fox Double Mint stronger than ZYN Cool Mint Slim 11 mg?
Slightly, going by the label. In use it starts slower and lasts longer because the pouch is dry, so the two feel close in strength rather than a step apart.

Double Mint. It's the most balanced can in the line, while Original is the one people either love or hate and Full Charge is the strong one.
