The Cherry Depth Chart: One Flavor, Six Cans
People asked for cherry right after our grape comparison went up two weeks ago. Cherry actually has more cans than grape, six in all, and they split into two styles: bright, candy-like red cherry and darker black cherry.

Two kinds of cherry
Red cherry is the sweet, bright, candy-style cherry. Black cherry is a darker fruit with an almost cola-like edge, less like candy and with more depth. Neither one is wrong, and once you know which kind you like, you've done most of the work of picking a can.
The six cans, lightest to strongest
- ZYN Black Cherry Mini (3-6 mg): the most refined cherry in the store, a polished black cherry, and the only one that starts at a gentle 3. If you're curious about cherry, start here.
- ZYN Black Cherry Slim (sold out, notify me) (11 mg): my everyday pick. It's the same flavor in a fuller pouch, and it's the cherry most people end up with.
- Iceberg Cherry (about 12 mg): the best red cherry. It tastes like straight cherry candy, which fits Iceberg, a brand whose whole lineup leans toward candy. It has the best pure flavor of the six.
- Pablo Gold Dark Cherry (17 mg): the cherry for people who use strong pouches. It's a black cherry with real strength behind it, and it has the best balance of flavor and strength of anything above 14.
