The Citrus Court: Every Citrus Pouch We Stock, Judged
Our four citrus pouches come from three brands, and between them they cover our whole strength range, from 3 mg to 30. No other flavor we've compared does that. Our berry roundup went up two days ago and mint gets its own comparison in August, so citrus is the last one for July.

The cans we compared
In order of strength: ZYN Citrus Mini at 3 or 6 mg, ZYN Citrus Slim (sold out, notify me) at 9 or 11, Iceberg Energy (sold out, notify me) at around 12, and Pablo Exclusive Lemonade at 30. I judged them the way I judged the grape cans and the cherry cans: how much each one tastes like the actual fruit, whether the sweetness stays under control, and whether the flavor is still there after twenty minutes. Citrus got a brief mention in our fruit ranking in the spring, but this is the full comparison.
ZYN Citrus Mini, 3 or 6 mg
The Mini is orange with lemongrass behind it, and the lemongrass keeps it tasting like fresh citrus instead of orange candy. It's bright at first and a little herbal at the end, and the mini pouch is small enough that you barely notice it. At 3 mg it's easily the gentlest can here (our guide to pouch strengths explains what 3 mg feels like). The 6 is strong enough for regular users.
ZYN Citrus Slim, 9 or 11 mg
The Slim has its own flavor: tart lemon and lime with a hint of orange peel and a little sweetness toward the end. It tastes more like the rind than the juice, which makes it the more grown-up of the two. The slim shape lasts longer (Mini vs Slim explains why), and 9 or 11 mg is right in the middle of the everyday range we made the case for in our June post on medium strengths. It's the most complete citrus we sell, and it wins this comparison.
Iceberg Energy, around 12 mg
It's listed as a citrus, but it tastes more like a soft drink. There's tart citrus up front, a sweet, syrupy middle and a faint guarana taste at the end that you won't find in any other can we sell. Odd flavors are normal for Iceberg (our Iceberg review covers the rest of them). It's around 12 mg, and if you want a citrus with something extra going on, this is it. It also made our list of pouches that taste like drinks, so it's fair to ask whether it counts as citrus at all.
Pablo Exclusive Lemonade, 30 mg
The strongest can here is also the one that tastes most like its fruit. Real lemonade is tart, and so is this: sharp lemon zest, a slight cool at the end and none of that sugar-water taste. It's 30 mg, which puts it among the strongest pouches we sell, so it's for experienced Pablo users only. It's a shame the best lemonade flavor we carry is this strong.
Which one to get
ZYN Citrus Slim is the best all-around citrus. It's an everyday strength, and the tart lemon and lime holds up from start to finish. For your first citrus pouch, get the Mini at 3 mg. Iceberg Energy is the one to try if you want something different. Pablo Exclusive Lemonade is the strongest of the four and tastes the most like real lemon, but only get it if you're already used to strong pouches.
All four are on our fruit pouches page at $9.99 a can. If you want to try more than one, either keep your strength the same and switch flavors (as our post on flavor fatigue recommends), or stick with citrus and try a different strength, since these cans cover so many. Just don't change both at once.
